About Me

Hi guys! It's Megan here. I'm not sure what I really want to say with this "about me" page thing, but... it is what it is, right? First off, I'm awkwardly honest... like awkwardly. If you asked me about your hair and I didn't think it looked right...I'd totally tell you, and that doesn't make me the easiest person to get along with.

If I were a book character...

I'd totally be Tris from Divergent. At least, I hope I would be! I mean, she gets Four, and she's a total bad-ass! And I hope I'm like her, at least a little bit.

My favorite book is....

Hm. This is a really tough question for me. I think that maybe I'll go with Stardust by Neil Gaiman or The Princess Bride by William Goldman. Other favorites include Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi, The Duff by Kody Keplinger, The Vincent Brothers by Abbi Glines, Divergent by Veronica Roth, Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins, The Hero's Guide to Saving Your Kingdom by Christopher Healey, and last (but not least) Just Listen by Sarah Dessen, along with The Queen of Babble series by Meg Cabot.

I have the biggest fictional crush on....

Perry from Under the Never Sky. There's just something really manly and I don't know... appealing about him.

PhotoAbout my coblogger, Nitzan:

Hello there, my name's Nitzan. But you can't pronounce that, so you might as well invent whatever name you want for me. Currently (like, in the last few years) I go by Katia on the net.

Unlike Megs, I don't do awkwardly honest in real life. I always try to soften the blow. In the past I'd say "Not a hairstyle I'll even use on myself, but on you it looks good!" (psst, it totally doesn't!) but nowadays I'd say 'It looks nice, but maybe try..." and proceed to try and salvage your nest of horrors.

BUT, when it comes to books... I'll say my mind. Even if my mind says Hush, Hush is a terrible book and Patch is an abusive boyfriend when the collective says otherwise.
(That was an inside joke, by the way).

If I were a book character? Well, firstly, I'll be an excellent heroine. I read so much I know all the tricks and pathways. I'll no what to do, where to look, and most importantly - NEVER TO TOUCH A MAGICAL ITEM YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH!

Honestly, though? I'm a total Hermione/Annabeth type of person. Even though I'm slow on the kick-ass-ness (getting better at it, though! I totally nail The Look now!)

Favorite Book? *bursts out laughing*
Never ask me that question, unless you're ready to be read (and have me force on you) a list of books so huge your head's gonna explode. I love books. A lot of them. All the time, in every position. In other words - I'm a book slut. I'm really bad at being faithful to one book- there are just too many amazing books out there! Baby, it's not you, it's me!

Favorite book crush...? Read the above. It applies here too.

Okay, enough rumbling.
Peace out.

About the blog:
I started The Book Babe's Reads in late January 2012, and it's been here ever since. To be honest, it was originally on webs.com, and called (wait for it)  Books to Love (and Read!). Which, if you'll notice, is an absolute fail of a name. Very much so. Plus, webs isn't very user (or blog) friendly.

So, I moved to blogger, and with the help of the awesome book blogger Katie, from Call Me Crazy, I changed my name, my URL, and my review format. She was great. :)

In August of 2014, I gained a new coblogger - Nitzan from Drugs Called Books.

That concludes this part of the tour.

Check out my old headers! I don't have the original banner for Books to Love (and Read!), but I have the ones for The Book Babe. :)

And, hopefully, many more! :)

I'm currently not doing blog awards, because I'm simply too busy to pass them on. Here are the ones I've received though!
